NOTAMs!

A new feature is added to the test environment of JVFR, and a rather important one at that. Users are now capable of searching for (and filtering through) NOTAMs relevant to their flight. Thanks to the FAA, we are now capable of reading the most recent NOTAMs for nearly any location around the world.

Searching for NOTAMs can be done in two ways. A pilot can search for NOTAMs by ICAO (e.g. an airfield or FIR), or find any NOTAMs within a 10 nautical mile radius of any planned route. Afterwards, querried NOTAMs can be viewed independently and added to the navigation map for reference as desired.

Of course the found NOTAMs can be filtered. Without filters, there would be far too much reading material for any flight that happens to go near a mildly busy airport. Pilots can filter based on aspects such as age, flight rules, type, minimum and maximum applicable height, and whether the notam is currently active or not.
